Matters Arising From Previous Minutes

The minutes of the 1999 AGM were read and accepted.

Chairman’s Report

Simon Seabrook submitted a written report.  The main point that he made was that the club should establish a colts development strategy.

Secretary's Report

Matthew Stevenson submitted a written report.  He said that it had been a reasonable season on the field of play, with the four senior XIs all having reasonable seasons and two colts teams, at Under 11 and 12, playing regularly; however, there had been problems during the summer with the ground, especially the outfield, and there was still too much work falling on too few shoulders.

Treasurer’s Report

David Peters submitted written accounts for the year to 30th September, 1999 (see attached).  These showed that the cricket section made a small loss on the year; however, these figures exclude income such as annual subscriptions and outgoings such as the groundsman’s salary, both of which are shown in the overall club accounts.

Club Captains’ Reports

David Banner reported that the Saturday 1st XI had finished 14th out of 20 in Division 2 of the Thames Valley League, which was a little disappointing.  David Peters reported that the Saturday 2nd XI had had its best season for may years and finished 6th out of 18 in Division 3 of the Thames Valley League.  Simon Gooch reported that the Sunday 1st XI had had a very good season with nine wins and six draws from 18 matches.  In the absence of John Cooper, Peter Glen reported that the Sunday 2nd XI had had a reasonable season which included three victories.

Any Other Business
