Hewston, Razaq Ishaq, Zamir Khan, Ben Kunicki, Jonathan Lindsay, Dave

Matters
Arising
- 3rd XI ground
at Beaconsfield: Tony Hewston reported that he had booked the
Beaconsfield 3rd XI ground for four Sunday 3rd XI home
matches.
Treasurer’s Report
- Current
balance: Murray Scott reported that we still have a significant deficit
when taking into consideration all outstanding
bills.
- Financial
reporting: Murray Scott agreed to produce a monthly financial statement
showing all current income and expenditure and also a projection for the
rest of the financial year.
- Club kit:
Mandeep Gill said that he expected to start collecting monies in the
near future.
- Pre-Season
Dinner 2008: Andy Parsons said that he hoped this event (on Saturday)
could generate a significant profit.
- Indoor nets:
Mandeep Gill reported that a small loss had been made on this event; Dan
Webb said that it was essential that someone took responsibility for
collecting monies on these events, and Matthew Stevenson said that he
thought the charge of £2 per session was too low.
- End-of-season
work: Dan Webb reminded everyone that we needed to budget at least £1000
for this work in the autumn.
- Junior monies;
Jonathan Lindsay reported that, taking into consideration outstanding
bills, there was approximately £140 in the junior bank
account.
- 2008 match
fees: there was a long debate on the merits, or otherwise, of the
captains being responsible for the match fees of any player who fails to
pay on the day. It was decided to reverse the decision made at the
November, 2007 meeting, which obliged the captains to pay in the full
amount every week regardless of any non-payers. Razaq Ishaq proposed
that all captains should bring a completed match fee form to the weekly
selection meeting and any player who has failed to pay on more than one
occasion should not be considered for selection; this proposal was
passed unanimously. Dan Webb said that he would also publish a “list of
shame” to try to embarrass non-payers.
Cricket
Report
- ECB coaching
course: Keith Neave said that he had completed his training course;
however, Mudho Ahmed said that his course had been
cancelled.
- ECB umpiring
course: Matthew Stevenson said that he had completed and passed the GL5
umpiring course.
- Junior
coaching plan: Jonathan Lindsay reported that he had made no further
progress on this
matter.
- Match day
management packs: Dan Webb reported that he had made no further
progress on this
matter.
- Indoor nets:
see above.
- Teas: it was
agreed that a good cricket tea could be produced for £50 and than the
responsibility for this, given that we no longer have external caterers,
has now returned to the captain of each home match. Matthew Stevenson
emphasized that this responsibility included clearing up the kitchen
afterwards.
- Bar, cellar
and kitchen: Mandeep Gill emphasized that, in the absence of external
caterers, the management of these functions was also once again the
responsibility of the captains.
- Cricket Force weekend, 2008: Dan Webb
reported that this event had been a great success with many useful jobs
done in the storage area, on the outfield, on the square, on the
practice facility and in the clubhouse.
- Newsletter and match reports in the local
press: Matthew Stevenson asked who was going to take responsibility for
this in the 2008 season; it was agreed that a press officer was required
but no volunteers came forward.
