Matters Arising
- 3rd XI in TVCL, 2007: There was a long discussion re whether or not it was viable for the club to enter a 3rd XI in the TVCL next season. Matthew Stevenson reported that the TVCL had given us until the end of the month to make a decision. Tony Hewston reported that Hirvines Park in Amersham would be available in 2007 at a cost of £110 per match and Dan Webb reported that discussions re the NSE ground for 2008 were looking promising. Saqib Ahmed reported that four of the ICI players were committed to joining the club and that a further eight or nine were “keeping their options open” – they ideally want a club which will incorporate the “Kinara” name and we have made it clear that we will not do this. It was therefore agreed that, unless we receive six membership fees in the next week, we will have to abandon our plans to enter a 3rd XI in the TVCL next season.
Ground Report
- New practice facility: Dan Webb reported that he had taken delivery of some scaffolding poles at no cost to the club, and planned to erect them in the next couple of weeks. He added that the netting and astroturf will be purchased and put up/laid in the spring.
Cricket Report
- Adil Irfan: Matthew Stevenson reported that Adil Irfan had requested some more help from the club re obtaining his visa; it was agreed that, as he will not need to be registered as an overseas player next season and has also committed to helping with the juniors, the club should give him as much help as possible.
- Changing rooms: Pauline Berger (the cleaner) has reported that there is some dirty kit in the changing rooms; Dan Webb took the action to clear it up.
Fixtures Report
- Fixture secretary: Dan Webb reported that this position was still vacant.
Treasurer’s Report
- Indian Barbecue: Dan Webb reported that the £120 of monies outstanding from this event (£60 owed by both Zamir Khan and Mudho Ahmed) had still not been paid in.
Fund Raising Report
- Annual Dinner: Andy Parsons sent a written report that plans for this event on Friday, 24th November were underway.
- Other events: There will be a Fireworks Evening on Saturday, 4th November and a Casino Night on Friday, 17th November.
Any Other Business
- Booster seats: Phil Noot reported that new government legislation re car travel requires all children, of a certain age and weight, to be seated in booster seats; he said that this would have implications re transportation to away matches next season.
