Matters Arising
Fixture booklets: the monies from the 2004 and 2005 booklets remain
outstanding.
Stoke Green: Matthew Stevenson said that he had still not heard any more
from the TVCL re Stoke Greens appeal.
Trophies: David Peters reported that he is making plans to get the
trophies engraved; there are now four seasons missing, 2002 to 2005.
Ground Report
Groundsman: David Banner reported that Shabir Ahmed may not be able to
continue in his role as groundsman in 2006; there was a discussion about the
notice period on his contract and possible contingency plans; David Banner
said that we may need to look carefully at the usage of the ground during
the summer we need to ensure that there are free evenings for the
groundsman to work on the square.
Storage facility: David Banner said that he was no longer looking into a
new storage facility and suggested that the best solution would be for the
club to take over the second storage container; he will make a proposal
along these lines to the CPSA board.
Wiring to the electronic scorebox: there was a discussion about the best
solution it should be either a plastic or copper tube, probably
underground.
Spraying the picket fence: Mudo Ahmed has offered to bring down some
engine oil; a spring work party will be organized to paint the oil onto the
fence.
Vandalism of the picket fence: David Banner reported that the fence was
vandalized a few weeks ago in the far corner of the ground (i.e. opposite
the clubhouse); he said that he had repaired it using the fencing that had
been taken down for the work on the practice facility.
Machinery: David Banner will obtain quotations for the repair and
servicing of the mowers, and repairs to the bowling machine.
New practice facility: Dave Nolder reported that he had been finding it
hard to obtain quotations for the concreting; the best figure so far is
£8500; Dan Webb has drafted a letter to Gerrards Cross Golf Club to inform
them of our plans.
Work party: the first work party of the new year will be organized on
Sunday week, 26th February.
Cricket Report
Overseas player: Matthew Stevenson reported that Tahir Rashid may return
for a second season in 2006; he also reported that Adil Irfan was having
difficulty in obtaining a visa.
Fixtures: Dan Webb said that he is finalising the fixtures for the 2006
season and will then hand them over to Matthew Stevenson.
Indoor nets: Dan Webb said that it would be nice to see some senior
players participating in the junior net sessions taking place in
Beaconsfield on Saturday evenings; there are no plans at present for any
other indoor nets.
Development Report
Buckinghamshire Playing Fields Association: Chris N. Yoxall reported that
he had obtained a further grant of £300 from the BPFA.
Junior kit: Chris N. Yoxall said that it may be possible to get a grant
from Chiltern District Council for junior kit, but we would need to provide
a list of addresses of our junior members.
Child protection and CRB checks: Dan Webb said that Keith Neave needed to
attend a child protection course; all club members who will work with
juniors need to get CRB clearance clearance previously obtained for other
bodies does not count.
Clubmark: Dan Webb is trying to find out more about what this is and how
it could be useful to us; it is organized on a sport/club hierarchy, so the
cricket section needs to apply to its own governing body i.e. independently
from the hockey section and not as part of CPSA; a development plan (see
below) is a prerequisite.
Development plan: Dan Webb presented the first draft of the plan to the
meeting for comment; he hopes to complete it by May at the latest.
Treasurers Report
In the absence of Murray Scott, there was no report; the final profit
figure for the Annual Dinner is still unknown.
Fund Raising Report
Covers: various options were discussed re Sam Machins offer; these
included the ECB raffle, a World Cup football quiz and another Casino / BBQ
evening
