Chalfont St. Peter Cricket
Club: Minutes, 20th January, 2005 Present: Matthew
Stevenson (chairman), Saqib Ahmed, Zamir Khan, Keith Neave, David Peters,
Rahul Punj
Apologies: Murray Scott, Dan Webb, Chris N. Yoxall
Matters Arising
TVCL AGM: Saqib Ahmed reported that none of the resolutions had been
passed. He reported that the ECB is recommending a change to the way leagues
manage the disciplinary process, whereby the clubs themselves manage the
process and it is only escalated to the league if it is not satisfactorily
resolved by the club.
Annual awards: David Peters will organise the return and engraving of the
trophies.
Working parties: Matthew Stevenson said that he was waiting to hear from
David Banner re dates for these events.
Umpiring & laws workshop: Matthew Stevenson said that he would try to
organise a BACUS (Buckinghamshire Association of Umpires & Scorers) event in
the spring.
Teas invoices: these were all in order.
Cricket Report
Club shirts: Matthew Stevenson said that he thought that there was a
demand for short-sleeved club shirts. Keith Neave said that the juniors
would certainly buy them. Zamir Khan will therefore get 50-60 club shirts
made, in various sizes; the sale of ten of these shirts should cover the
costs, so it is a good profit-making opportunity with almost no financial
risk.
Cricket balls: Zamir Khan will arrange for circa 40 cricket balls to be
brought back from Pakistan prior to the start of the season.
Next years committee: Rahul Punj has agreed to continue as Sunday 1st XI
captain. However, vacancies remain for Fixture Secretary, CPSA Board Rep and
Social Rep.
ECB coaching course: Keith Neave said that he had not yet booked a place
on a course, due mainly to problems navigating the Bucks Cricket Board web
site; Matthew Stevenson recommended that he contact Steve Ayres, ECB
Development Officer for Bucks, directly by telephone.
ECB club and coaching development seminars: Matthew Stevenson reported
that there were some events coming up, but said that he was unlikely to be
able to attend due to work commitments. Keith Neave said that he may be able
to attend; Matthew Stevenson will forward the dates to the committee.
Indoor nets: Rahul Punj will try to organise some club net sessions.
Overseas players: Zamir Khan will keep his eye open for a second overseas
player.
Finance
Fixture booklets: Zamir Khan confirmed that there was still £100
outstanding from last years fixture booklets. He also said that he had lost
some of his advertisers for this years booklets, which is a shame. However,
despite this, Matthew Stevenson encouraged him to continue with the idea for
another year and see what happens, and also asked Saqib Ahmed to be more
proactive in trying to find new advertisers. Keith Neave very kindly offered
to get the fixture booklets printed at no cost to the club via his company.
Annual dinner: Saqib Ahmed and Asif Ahmed have settled their debts. Shahid
Dins monies remain outstanding.
Annual subscriptions: Matthew Stevenson said that there remain two
outstanding debtors, Amit Puri and Dean Page, and promised to continue
chasing them.
Fixtures
MASL fixtures 2005: Matthew Stevenson reported that these had now been
published.
