Club: Minutes, 17th March, 2004 Present: Matthew Stevenson (chairman), Saqib Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Zamir
Khan, David Peters, Rahul Punj, Chris N. Yoxall
Peter Banner and Chris Blamey were present for the ground report only.
Martin Cartledge and Andy Watts attended to discuss the open day.

Matters Arising From Previous Minutes and AGM
• Award trophies: David Peters said that there are four trophies missing:
o Club Bowler
o Outstanding Batting Performance
o Outstanding Young Player
o Six Hit Award
• Indoor nets: Saqib Ahmed said that he had been unable to arrange any
indoor net sessions; Matthew Stevenson said that we must be more proactive
next winter and book something up earlier.
• Missing photograph: Matthew Stevenson said that he had recovered the
photograph, which was lent to the TVL re the Burnham disciplinary incident.
Ground Report
• Outfield: Paul Gethin will cut the outfield during the summer; Chris
Blamey will ask him to do an initial cut as soon as possible.
• Square: Gary Hales has applied the chemical to remove the thatch; Shabir
Ahmed reported that the square lawn mowers are not working; Chris Blamey
will get the lawn mowers serviced and repaired.
• Invoices: Peter Banner said that both Paul and Shabir would need to
produce invoices so that he can pay them; Matthew Stevenson said that Shabir
Ahmed should buy petrol, top soil and fertilizer as required and forward the
invoices to Peter.
• Roller: the roller is working at the moment; Zamir Khan and Shabir Ahmed
will keep an eye on it re the oil leak, and make any temporary fixes as and
when required.
• Moles: there has been no further progress re dealing with this problem;
the action point is still on the Gerrards Cross Golf Club groundsman.
• Work parties: Matthew Stevenson said that two work parties had been
arranged, for this Sunday, 21st March, and for Sunday, 4th April.
• Sightscreen parts: these will be moved into the storage container on
Sunday.
• Covers: there has been no further news on when the frames may be
delivered.
Cricket Report
• Overseas players: Zamir Khan said that arrangements for this year’s
overseas players were in progress.
• Juniors: in the absence of Phil Noot, there was no report.
• Open Day: Andy Watts brought down a sample flier for the open day. Martin
Cartledge questioned what we would actually be doing on the day re nets,
practice match etc. Matthew Stevenson said that we would have to play this
by ear depending on the weather and turnout etc.
• TVL captain’s meeting: Zamir Khan will attend this meeting on Sunday, 18th
April at High Wycombe C.C.
Treasurer’s Report
• There was no report in the absence of Murray Scott.
Fund Raising Report
• Fixture booklets: Zamir Khan reported that these are progressing well
but he said that he had been very disappointed with the response from club
members re getting advertisements.
• Euro 2004 Quiz: Saqib Ahmed said that he had not yet produced an
“electronic” copy of the entry form.
• ECB Raffle: Matthew Stevenson said that he had ordered £350 of tickets.
Fixtures Report
• Fixture List: Dan Webb was unable to attend the meeting but he has sent
a copy of the fixture list to Saqib Ahmed re the fixture booklets.
Social Report
• In the absence of Mike Burge there was no report.
CPSA Report
• Teas: Chris Yoxall reported that the notice period for cancelled
matches had been discussed at the last board meeting; Matthew Stevenson
asked him to chase Caroline Chipperfield to get the contract amended as soon
as possible.
• Spring Ball: Matthew Stevenson said that it was important for the cricket
section to support this event; he will ask Mike Burge to promote it.
• Clubhouse key: Matthew Stevenson asked Chris Yoxall to request a clubhouse
key for Shabir Ahmed.
Any Other Business
• Next meeting: this will take place on Wednesday, 14th April, 8.00pm, in
the clubhouse.
