Chalfont St. Peter Cricket
Club: Minutes, 8th October, 2003 Present: Saqib Ahmed, David Banner, Zamir Khan, Patrick Nagle, David
Peters, Rahul Punj, Murray Scott, Matthew Stevenson, Dan Webb, Martin White
Matters Arising From Previous Minutes• CPSA finances: Matthew Stevenson outlined the conversations, which he
had recently had with the CPSA board, re the bar/teas contract and capital
expenditure. It is possible that the CPSA board will not authorise all, or
indeed any, of our capital expenditure wish list. He said that he did not
think that cricket was self financing at the moment, and suggested that we
set up a fund raising sub committee, with an initial aim of raising an extra
£2,000 this winter. He asked Dan Webb to draw up a list of reservations to
be discussed a) at future cricket meetings and b) taken to the CPSA board.
The present teas contract expires before the start of the 2004 cricket
season. Cricket Report• TVL report: we still do not know whether the 1st XI has been relegated
from Division 2B. The 1st XI has incurred more fines for not returning
result sheets and umpire cards. Matthew Stevenson suggested that Zamir Khan
appoint someone in his team to take responsibility for this task. Annual AwardsThe winners of this year’s annual awards were agreed as below, with the
exception of the Saturday 2nd XI award, which David Peters said was too
close to call; he proposes to take some soundings from team members and will
report back at the next meeting. Fixtures Report• Fixture Secretary: Matthew Stevenson said that he would be working in Jersey for the next six months and would therefore have to resign this position with immediate effect. Dan Webb very kindly offered to take over. Treasurer’s Report• Match fees: these have all been paid in. Ground Report• End of season work: David Banner said that this had been completed. Any Other Business• Next meeting: this will take place on Wednesday, 12th November, 8.00pm, in the clubhouse. |
