Chalfont St. Peter Cricket
Club: Minutes, 5th February, 2003 Present: David Banner (chairman), David Peters, Saqib Ahmed, Zamir Khan,
Rahul Punj, Simon Gooch, Mike Burge
Apologies: Matthew Stevenson, Murray Scott
Matters Arising From Previous Minutes
TVL ground and pitch markings: we have not yet received our annual
marks from the TVL.
TVL AGM report: David Banner has not yet published his report.
Framed photographs: Matthew Stevenson has put up the old photographs in
the clubhouse; they are just held on traditional picture hooks at the
moment, but they may be fixed more securely at a later date.
Sir Ali memorabilia for the club web page: there has been no progress on
this.
Cricket Report
Overseas players: there have been ongoing discussions with Nouman Habib
and Adnan Khan about them returning to the club in 2003; the main hurdle to
be overcome at the moment is accommodation.
Sunday 1st XI captaincy: it was agreed that Rahul Punj, Tony Hewston and
Zamir Khan would share this role.
Fixtures Report
Fixtures: these are now completed, with the exception of one Sunday 1st
XI fixture and, ideally, at least one more midweek fixture.
Booklets: it was agreed that we will not produce fixture booklets this
season, partly because of the prohibitive cost and time to produce them, and
partly because the club web page is now the most appropriate place to
publish fixtures, for players, life members, vice presidents and opposition
fixture secretaries alike.
Treasurers Report
Current balance: approximately £1750.
Social Report
CPSA Spring Ball: Mike Burge reported that this will take place on
Saturday, 26th April, tickets £30 per head.
Irish Night: this will take place on Saturday, 15th March.
Ground Report
New sightscreens: two new ones have been ordered from 3-D Cricket, and
will be delivered in April.
Old sightscreen: Zamir Khan will give the club a quotation for repair work
re the insurance claim.
Picket fence: this has been completed, with the exception of two gates and
treating the wood.
Practice facility: renovating this in time for the new season is now the
top priority task.
Covers: Zamir Khan said that the Black & Decker option was now a non
starter due to the tough economic climate.
Any Other Business
Paintings: David Banner said that there is a possibility that Satish
Sharmas wife, who is an artist, may paint a landscape of the Chalfont Park
ground.
Next meeting: this will take place on Wednesday, 5th March, 8.00pm, in the
clubhouse.
