CPSA Board Meeting 16th January 2003


Summary of points covered:

• concern over fall off in members’ use of the bar – waning interest?
• concern about information flows (particularly financial) between Section Treasurers and centre
• cash position could be -£1000 at end January but easily covered by overdraft facility and should revert to credit balance in February
• still £1000 subscriptions outstanding; those not paid at mid-February risk withdrawal of playing and clubhouse rights
• Loan Scheme draw postponed from December to be held asap this month
• bar sales in December were £4793 (profit £1917), for year £16873 (profit £6759)
• Spring Ball scheduled for 26th April – diary!!!
• agreed to subscribe to SkyTV asap and run a weekly Sky TV draw
• exploring air conditioning for bar areas
• insurance claim for storm damaged sight screens approved, new ones ordered
• new external signages ordered for premises
• slow progress in securing Alcan ground for football, cricket
• new basis for subscriptions under consideration, to reward those who help behind the bar
• need to find a new Chairman as Simon intends to step down by the end of 2003 latest
