JUNIORS
The Junior section of our club is a complete
inspiration. I had the pleasure of playing
against 4 different childrens' teams today
(Sunday), aged from 5 to 16. Blinking hard work,
we adults would all agee, but great fun. The
kids were fantastic and are obviously the future
of our club. The unsung work done by Ian Ringham,
Sarah Watts and MANY others is certainly worthy
of recognigtion. Thanks.

Team: Fyffe; Watson;
Cartledge, Parker, Brothwell; Ruxton, Teasdale,
Frick, Durkin; Hewitt, Bugg; Sub. Coates.
A&C completed their
undefeated league season with a resounding
victory against bottom-placed Phoenix Ranelagh
at Newland Park on Saturday. A&C took the lead
in the first minute when Rachel Parker scored
from a penalty corner.
Phoenix Ranelagh responded
with their only penalty corner of the game
forcing a save from Tanya Fyffe. However, it was
soon one-way traffic for the rest of the half
and Erin Ruxton instigated a number of chances
and Natalie Durkin took advantage of these to
score twice in the space of 5 minutes.
Four more goals in the space
of 8 minutes really knocked the stuffing out of
a plucky Phoenix side. Firstly, after 20
minutes, Catherine Watson scored after being
set-up by Alex Teasdale. Then Ruxton dribbled
through to score and Emma Hewitt then made it
6-0 before Gabriella Bugg netted on her 1st team
debut.
The second-half continued in
the same vein as the first and Annie Brothwell's
strike from another penalty corner two minutes
after the break recommenced the scoring. After
42 minutes, Caroline Coates drove in from the
sideline and into the top of the D before firing
past the 'keeper.
Another crisp strike from
Brothwell to score was followed by two more
goals for Watson, sweeping in at consecutive
penalty corners. Coates scored her second of the
game and Watson her fourth with just 3 minutes
remaining to complete the rout and a very
successful season for the Champions.
