A depleted Saturday 2's side put up an admirable showing away to OMT, the league leaders. Choosing to bat first, OMT looked to make a positive start but some fine bowling in particular by Adil Irfan (3 for 58 off 20 overs) helped keep them in check and Tom Richardson dismissed Wright, the dangerous looking opener. Rob Machin (4 for 64) playing his first game of the season bowled 16 overs and, in the middle of their innings, OMT's were struggling on 75 for 4. A stubborn 6th wicket partnership of 48 saw a recovery before two quick wickets, including a fine catch in the deep by Warren Scott, gave Chalfont some hope. However, a late flurry of boundaries by Qadir rescued his side before he was deceived by Andy Watts flight and guile and Adam Laubser took the stumping. OMT were finally dismissed for 196 in the 52nd over.

Chalfont's reply started well before David Peters was run out. This brought together Kevin Braithwaite (44) and Tony Hewston (48) who both batted steadily at first and then opened up as they pushed the score on to 110 in the 30th over. Braithwaite was then unfortunate to receive what looked a harsh decision and this started a collapse as 6 wickets fell for 10 runs. Scott (19) batting with great sense steadied things but could not help prevent the inevitable. There was still time for a late flourish by Watts (11) to see Chalfont collect a further batting point before they were finally all out for 156 with 4 overs to go.

A superb captain's innings of 87 by Rahul Punj inspired the Sunday 1st XI to a 15 run victory over Stoke Green.

We were in trouble early on, 1-2 and then 46-4, but the skipper played a trademark innings, full of glorious clean hitting, both straight driving and pulling, to get us out of trouble. He was dismissed just short of a well deserved ton, but Adil Irfan picked up the challenge and hit a quick 52 to take us up to 227 all out in 37.5 overs.

When it was their turn to bat, Stoke Green threatened to win the match, and looked well placed at one point, 160-3 from 26 overs, but once their top order had been dismissed the balance of power swung towards us. We eventually ran out slightly more comfortable winners than the margin suggests, as Stoke Green were bowled out for 212, also, by coincidence, in 37.5 overs.
