Amersham and Chalfont Astro Update

Due to the ongoing success of Amersham and Chalfont Hockey Club, we embarked on a plan to build another astro pitch in close proximity to the Sports Club building.

So far we have entered in an agreement with the local Chalfonts Community College to build an astro on their field and provide leading facilities to teach hockey to the 1700 pupils and provide a first class pitch for playing hockey for the hockey club.  In addition, there will be other sports played on the astro, and other sports clubs are welcome to join us in the project.

The key elements of the project are the planning permission and the finance.  The latter is particularly crucial and exciting plans are underway to provide a sustainable revenue for the club to provide the new astro asset and the ongoing maintenance and coaching at the school and club.

We are also looking to develop our links with other schools to improve the teaching of hockey and benefit both parties.  This is key as the only hockey club in the Chiltern District of Buckinghamshire.
